Job Description :
- The PWE will be involved in drilling studies, planning and execution of EDR’s Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) services in Norway and other areas internationally as required as part of the Global Well Engineering team. This role could also act as project manager and / or customer contact for current ongoing and future projects.
- Preparation of well design, well plan, operational procedures, risk assessments, process safety and contingency plans, including well engineering and hydraulic simulations to plan Constant Bottom Hole Pressure (CBHP) and similar applications.
- Ensure all activities are in accordance with EDR’s HSEQ policies and procedures, driving HSEQ culture by example and coordinating / monitoring EDR’s service for quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal and external parties to develop required programs and procedures, and improve operational procedures for EDR.
- Communicate effectively with well site and project stakeholders, making recommendations to deliver flawless service and operational excellence.
- Monitor daily progress of projects, operational P&L, and maintain project financials including budget and forecast reconciliation with the accounting team; perform Cost Benefit analysis.
- Prepare and deliver customer presentations to support business development and sales opportunities.
- Maintain day-to-day follow-up with customers, attend morning meetings, and build trust by providing solutions tailored to customers’ wells rather than generic solutions.
- Participate in pre-job meetings, planning sessions, risk reviews, DWOPs, After Action Reviews, and Lessons Learned Sessions.
- Help customers understand the benefits of EDR services and provide technical advice throughout planning and operations; write sectional recommendations for ongoing work.
- Plan with customers for upcoming and planned wells and provide engineering recommendations to customers and internally.
- Prepare, participate in, and lead peer reviews, peer assists, and other quality assurance activities; write case histories highlighting benefits from EDR operations.
- Assist in developing training material for offshore operations, drilling contractors, and customers.
- Follow up on equipment and operational issues and document value-added by EDR services in drilling EOWR and other materials.
- Prepare, review and deliver technical reports related to the project (end of section / well reports, after-action reviews, lessons learned, etc.).
- Evaluate and implement best practices and technological advancements to EC-Drill operations; provide in-house technical assistance on operational considerations.
- Capture engineering achievements and challenges through case histories, lessons learned, or papers, and share with the global team.
Qualifications :
BSc. Degree preferably in Petroleum Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.Drilling / well engineering background.Experience with Managed Pressure Drilling operations, planning, and simulations preferred.Offshore experience, preferably from MODUs and Drill ships.Ability to run well hydraulics programs and operate common engineering software packages as needed.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.MS Office proficiency.Well Control knowledge, either IWCF Level 4 certified or able to gain certification.Strong interpersonal skills to work with colleagues across cultures, influence effectively, and build credibility with senior managers.Recognized and respected within the drilling contractor community; existing relationships with operators and drilling contractors are advantageous.Able to handle large workloads; technically driven and proactive in building new customer relationships.Ability to work across the organization and be a team player.Applications will be evaluated continuously.
