Overview

Executive Account Director, Business Development - Biotech (Clinical Research) at Thermo Fisher Scientific. This is an upcoming opportunity with a start date anticipated in the latter part of the year.

Role focus : business development with Biotech customers within Germany or the Nordics for the Clinical Research Business of Thermo Fisher Scientific. The role aims to position the company as a primary or preferred provider for clinical development work to be outsourced, through consultative sales and relationship management with decision-makers and influencers at sponsors.

Responsibilities

  • Orchestrate RFX strategy calls, develop client proposals, prepare client presentations, negotiate and close contracts, and sign new business authorizations at or above the assigned goal.
  • Prospect via cold calls and client visits; maintain sales database and activity reports.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through regular contact; address requests and report on improvements; respond to client inquiries.
  • Mentor and train junior staff as needed.

Qualifications

Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with relevant qualification.
  • 8+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Scientific, sales or marketing background with concentration in pharmaceutical / biotech areas.
  • Proven ability to develop mid- and high-level business contacts and manage the full sales cycle through close.
  • Experience selling clinical trials (phase II–IV) and coordinating with Operations, Finance, Bids & Contracts, and Marketing.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and lead development skills; familiarity with sales automation and Microsoft Office.
