As a Data Performance Engineer, you'll play a key role in helping customers maximize the performance of advanced drilling automation systems through meaningful data insights and operational recommendations.
You'll join our global Performance team, working alongside experts across Norway, the UK, Brazil, and the US to solve complex challenges and deliver measurable improvements for customers worldwide. What you'll be doing
As part of our Performance team, you will:
- Analyze drilling and automation data to identify performance trends and optimization opportunities
- Review and validate data from customer drilling automation systems to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Develop clear, insightful performance reports and dashboards using modern data visualization tools
- Work closely with customers to establish KPIs and support operational planning sessions
- Translate complex data into practical recommendations that improve drilling efficiency and equipment performance
- Investigate data anomalies and continuously improve analytical methods
- Support troubleshooting activities by providing data-driven insights to internal teams
- Identify opportunities to improve Performance Center processes, technologies, and customer experience
- Collaborate with engineering, service, and customer teams to drive continuous improvement
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, is curious about data, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Required qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience in a related field
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Powerpoint, Excel, Visio)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex datasets
- Experience creating reports and presenting insights clearly to stakeholders
- Some knowledge of drilling fundamentals and drilling equipment
- Willingness to travel occasionally when required
It would be an advantage if you have
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Norwegian language skills
Experience with any combination of the following would be beneficial:
- Proficiency with Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Grafana,
- Knowledge of SQL or other programming languages used for data analysis
- Thorough knowledge of Drilling Fundamentals and Equipment
- Experience with Drilling Controls (Amphion, Cyberbase)
- Proficiency in Automation Systems (NOVOS, MMC,
