We are looking for Quantitative Risk Analysts (From Associate to Senior level) from all background and level to join our Risk Models Data and Strategy teams that is recognized for its professionalism, competence and capabilities.

Welcome to the Risk Models Data & Strategy department, a part of the Risk Models organization in Group Risk.

We have an ambitious development plan for development of IRB models and together with our colleagues in Nordea we’ll be part of creating the future of banking.

About our team

The Risk Models Data & Strategy department, is a department consisting of 6 team, each specialized in their own part of ensuring high quality data is supporting the banks capital foundation.

We add value to Nordea and our customers by improving Nordea data quality, helping visualizing and create the understanding of our data so modelling teams can build great internal models used for Own Funds calculation and the for risk management.

What you’ll be doing

As a Quantitative Risk Analyst, the specific role may vary based on qualifications, but you could i.e. play a valuable role in Data analytics, optimizing data flows, product management or as a data governance specialist. Your role could also include coordinating data related activities and ensuring proper communication within the teams and across other Risk Models areas.

Main responsibilities in this role:

  • Root-cause analysis for data quality issues, where we meticulously investigate and identify the underlying reasons for any discrepancies in our data. This is closely followed by data reconciliation, ensuring that our data sets are consistent and accurate across different sources.
  • Data extraction based on desired content where we pull out specific information needed for various analyses and reports.
  • We focus on optimizing data flows and algorithms to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our data processes.
  • Refining business requirements and conducting user acceptance testing. This ensures that the developed solutions meet the specified needs and expectations of our stakeholders. Developing analytical tools enabling better data analysis and decision-making.
  • Product management, ensuring that our data-related products are aligned with business objectives and user needs
  • Executing the Data Governance Recipe, where we adhere to the best practices and policies to manage our data assets effectively.
  • Preparing reports and other documentation for senior management and external reporting is also an integral part of our role, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.

The role can be based in Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden or Poland – and we expect that are you are already based close to any existing location with a main Nordea office.

Who you are

To succeed in this role, we believe that you:

  • Have an adaptability to thrive in fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Are structured and able to coordinate several deliveries simultaneously
  • Are self-driven and able to work independently but also enjoy collaboration with others
  • Have strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail with the ability to analyse complex data and processes to derive meaningful insights
  • Have good communication and presentations skills, are not afraid to speak up and can effectively convey business requirements to IT teams and facilitate collaboration between stakeholders
  • Are curious and proactive, focus on solutions rather than problems and share our enthusiasm for developing and learning and constantly improving your skills and competences

Your experience and background:

  • For junior profiles: Interest and flair for data & analysis
  • For senior profiles: Experience with Credit Risk modeling, capital reporting, and understanding regulatory requirements as BCBS239 and TRIM
  • Knowledge of SQL, SAS, Python or similar
  • Master’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, physics, mathematics or similar
  • A strong focus on results, deliveries and deadlines
  • Experience with Big Data would be an asset
  • An interest in finance and technology
