We are seeking an intermediate to senior level C++ software developer with experience in embedded systems to strengthen our Handheld Ultrasound R&D team. Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test embedded C++ software for hand-held medical ultrasound applications
- Write software that is robust, well documented, maintainable, and extensible - both for new developments and when extending or changing existing code
- Write software that is testable and well covered with unit tests
- Efficiently work in an agile team of highly skilled developers with mutual coaching through design discussions and code review
- Work with a cross-disciplinary team of product owners, usability experts, and clinical experts to understand user value and shape product requirements that can be implemented on time and within cost
- Relentlessly pursue world-class product quality and user experience
Required Qualifications
You hold a degree in computer science or one of the STEM majors with advanced experience.You have extensive experience with embedded software development using modern C++ (C++17 and later).You have experience in designing and implementing complex software systems and architectures, choosing fitting, properly documented abstractions and efficient implementations.You work efficiently with existing code bases and are comfortable refactoring large parts of legacy code when necessary to fulfill a task.You understand the value of unit tests as an enabler for safe code changes, including embedded low-level code, and ensure sufficient test coverage for additions and changes.You understand both the potential and the limitations of generative AI and are comfortable using modern generative-AI tools as part of your work.Desired Technical Expertise
Additionally, you have at least one of the following qualifications :
Experience with Yocto, the Linux kernel, and microcontroller programmingExperience with FreeRTOS or other bare-metal operating systemsExperience with code optimization such as Neon / SIMD, CUDA, or OpenCLExperience with continuous-integration tools such as GitLab CI or JenkinsExperience with containerization tools such as Docker or PodmanExperience with distributed code-versioning workflows with gitExperience with ultrasound physics and algorithmsExperience with mathematical modelling of physical systemsExperience with signal and / or image processingExperience with algorithm development from prototyping in Python, Matlab, or similar to final implementation in C++Basic knowledge of analog and digital electronic circuitsDesired Personal Qualities
