Software Engineer

Overview

Jotron is a leading international corporation in the development, production and sale of communication systems and safety equipment for aviation and maritime applications. The head office of the Jotron Group is in Larvik, Norway, with subsidiaries in Oslo, Lithuania, England, the USA and Singapore. The Group has 365 employees and an annual turnover of approx. NOK 883 million.

Jotron is strengthening its R&D department and is looking for a curious Software Engineer to work on the research and development of industry leading products for the Air Traffic Management market. As a Software Engineer you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of interesting and challenging tasks. Working closely with other software, firmware, and hardware engineers, you will be responsible for developing new and maintaining existing software products. In addition, you will be able to influence and shape tomorrow's solutions.

The workplace will be in Larvik. You will be part of the software development team that currently consists of 20 engineers and work with software development and quality assurance.

The role

The role involves a range of activities which may vary over time

• Designing and developing new software features.
• Researching and recommending new technologies.
• Improving and maintaining existing portfolio of software products.
• Writing Unit Tests, testing own code.
• Analyzing functional / non-functional software requirements and customer specifications.
• Debugging software and systems.
• Working with QA analysts and software engineers to find solutions for problems.
