QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Preferably Engineer degree or relevant. If not, specialist training in mechanic / hydraulic(drilling) equipment
- Systematic familiarisation / Competence Assessment(s) for position
- Documented relevant practical experience from offshore / maritime operations, practice in hydraulics
- Fluent written / oral English and Norwegian language
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Mechanic is responsible for ensuring that maintenance work is carried out in accordance with the company's safety and quality policy, attending in particular to the hydraulic equipment on board. His or her main focus is on the “top-side” of the MODUMechanic must be able to carefully study all drawings and manuals relating to the rig's hydraulic systems and troubleshoot in these systemsMechanic is responsible for notifying the Technical Section Leader, and / or Rig Superintendent if applicable, of any faults, defects and irregularities relating to the mechanical / hydraulic systems and pertaining equipmentMechanic shall be updated with the company's quality assurance system and electronic maintenance system and for ensuring compliance with these systems in day-to-day operations. Shall be familiar with processing maintenance- and repair jobs in PMS computer based systemMechanic should be aware of oil spills / oil leaks on the rig hydraulic systems and report these immediately. Must be aware of the potential consequences of such oil spillsMechanic is responsible for the completion of work permits before the commencement of any work that requires such a permit and / or SJAMechanic shall have a good understanding of the importance regarding hazards working with pressurized systems, have a good understanding of Odfjell barrier philosophy and general safety focusMechanic shall ensure that there are sufficient tools and spare parts available at all times for the safe and proper performance of repairs and maintenanceMechanic shall assist the drilling section in carrying out other work as required and as agreed with the Technical Section LeaderMechanic is responsible for ensuring that maintenance work is carried out in accordance with the company's safety and quality policyMechanic is responsible for ensuring that the Technical Section Leader / Rig Superintendent is updated at all times in relation to maintenance and repairs that may have an impact on progress in the drilling operationMechanic has co-responsibility for ensuring the availability of spare parts, tools and materials for repairs and maintenanceMechanic has co-responsibility for planning for inspection routinesMechanic must be able to contribute on FMEA and FMECA in his / her field of expertiseWe live our core values – creative, competent, result oriented, committed – while always being safety conscious.
