The Role

Cyber threats are evolving faster than ever, and resilience is becoming a decisive factor for businesses and critical infrastructure worldwide. At DNV, our Cyber Security teams partner with organizations to anticipate risks, strengthen defenses, and build trust in a digital-first economy. We combine expertise in IT, operational technology (OT), and industry-specific systems to help customers secure what matters most — whether that’s safeguarding power grids, protecting maritime operations, ensuring trust in healthcare systems, or supporting other vital sectors. Our teams work on high-impact projects where cybersecurity meets innovation, regulation, and sustainability, from shaping cyber strategies to testing resilience against advanced threats.

We offer services in :

  • Cybersecurity assessments and advisory services.
  • Security for industrial control systems (ICS).
  • Governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) solutions.
  • Incident response and digital forensic analysis.
  • Security architecture design and penetration testing.

What to Expect as a Cyber Trainee

  • Develop your skills through training and certifications in areas such as risk management, red / blue teaming, compliance, and security frameworks.
  • Work hands-on with cutting-edge technologies, from ethical hacking and penetration testing to cloud, AI, and industrial control systems.
  • Experience multiple rotations across our Business Areas and join real customer projects, contributing to solutions that improve resilience in energy, maritime, healthcare, and other critical sectors.

  • The trainee program lasts 18 months and will be tailored to ensure you gain the right competencies for your future role at DNV. You will be a permanent employee of DNV from the start of the program.

  • About You / Who We’re Looking For

  • Hold a BSc, MSc, or PhD in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Genuine interest in cyber resilience, digital risk, and protecting critical infrastructure.
  • Desire to help customers build a powerful defense against cyber-attacks.
  • Curious to explore both technical security challenges and business implications.
  • Security-minded, motivated under pressure, and committed to delivering quality results.
  • Clear and confident communication; thrives in diverse, multidisciplinary teams and values collaboration.
