WELCOMING YOU TO THE TEAM

At Nexans, we are committed to powering a more sustainable future through electrification. The Planning Director plays a pivotal role in shaping how we deliver on this ambition, driving strategic planning, performance steering, and transformation across our global operations. Reporting directly to the Group Strategy & Transformation function and working closely with senior business leaders, you’ll be joining a forward-thinking team where your expertise will help influence business outcomes, align priorities, and guide decision-making across our industrial and commercial activities.

GETTING A FLYING START

As our Planning Director, you will act as the central architect of our planning framework, ensuring that long-term strategy, annual business planning, and performance monitoring are connected and value-driven. You will support senior leadership in translating strategic ambitions into actionable plans, aligning resources, and enabling informed decision-making through robust analysis and reporting. You’ll work closely with Business Group leaders, Finance, Operations, and Transformation teams, providing the clarity, tools, and insights that help Nexans deliver both operational excellence and long-term sustainable growth.

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Lead Nexans’ corporate planning cycle, integrating strategic objectives into annual business and operational plans;
  • Drive performance management through structured reporting, dashboards, and KPIs, enabling transparency and accountability across functions;
  • Partner with Business Groups to ensure alignment between global priorities and local execution;
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives, challenging assumptions and supporting evidence-based decision-making;
  • Provide financial and operational planning insights that link investment choices to strategic impact;
  • Lead cross-functional transformation initiatives, coordinating planning inputs and supporting effective change deployment;
  • Ensure continuous improvement of planning tools, processes, and governance, including adoption of digital solutions (e.g. Power BI, SAP, planning platforms);
  • Build and mentor a high-performing planning team, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the organisation.

YOUR STARTING POINTS WHEN YOU JOIN

  • A Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field (MBA or similar preferred);
  • 10+ years’ experience in planning, strategy, or transformation, ideally in a multinational or industrial environment;
  • Proven expertise in business planning, financial modelling, scenario planning, and performance management;
  • Strong consulting or corporate strategy background with experience in delivering change programs;
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at executive level;
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex, multi-country projects;
  • Advanced skills in planning and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, SAP or equivalent);
  • A collaborative mindset, resilience under pressure, and the ability to turn complexity into clarity.
  • OUR GROWTH CULTURE

    At the individual level our growth-culture is built on trust and collaboration. We wish to welcome you as a valuable member of our team. To enable impact, we believe in freedom and autonomy at the individual level at same time as we encourage knowledge sharing, team-work mentality and can-do attitude amongst our team members.

    At Nexans, we recognise the differences that make each employee valuable and unique. The diversity of experiences, origins, personalities, gender and disability are considered key to our global ambition to lead the world in energy transition towards a sustainable planet. This is why we encourage diversity in our recruitment - Bring yours to Nexans, it is welcome!
