We are delighted to be recruiting for this value led organisation based in north Cardiff in helping them find a talented and experienced Finance Manager. This role is a varied one and as the new Finance Manager, you will provide financial insights and analysis, support decision-making processes, and contribute to strategic planning. As a key part of your new role you will manage the annual budget setting process, produce management accounts and support the Head of Finance with year-end. We are therefore looking for someone who has a strong management accounting background and who enjoys business partnering as part of their role.
The job
- Manage the overall financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and reporting
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights, support decision-making processes, and contribute to strategic planning
- Monitor and analyse financial performance and compare against budgets and forecasts
- Promote business partnering and meet with budget holders to discuss financial performance and provide them with financial information and detailed spend / income analysis
- Manage the preparation of management accounts and quarterly forecasting to monitor income and expenditure against budget
- Produce a quarterly cash flow and manage investments in line with the treasury policy
- Assist Head of Finance with external audit and the preparation of the statutory accounts
- Consult with external stakeholders, such as auditors, banks, and local authorities, to ensure smooth financial operations and compliance
- Line manage one direct report and provide guidance, whilst fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
The person specification
Part qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA or AAT qualified accountant or finalist with 10+ years’ experience in finance.
