Overview

Opportunity in a nutshell : You are an experienced finance or sustainability professional with solid knowledge of sustainability reporting and ESG data structures who thrives on building processes from scratch.

Role : As a Sustainability Controller you’ll lead the ESG reporting agenda within Finance, embed sustainability into financial controlling, and support our financial controlling and consolidation activities.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has :

  • Minimum 3 years experience in sustainability and financial reporting (CSRD, EU Taxonomy, audit-readiness).
  • Certification within Sustainability (e.g. GRI, The Academy for Sustainability Reporting, or equivalent).
  • Strong data handling and Excel / Google Sheets skills.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and financial consolidation processes.
  • A master’s degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field. Work experience can compensate for formal education.
  • Fluency in English is required, with Norwegian or Swedish as a plus.
  • Systematic and thorough, ensuring high data quality and compliance.
  • Collaborative and communicative, with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Responsible and pragmatic, thriving in a context of evolving structures and regulations, taking initiative where you see opportunities.

The job

What’s the job like? You will ensure Vend delivers efficient, compliant, and value-adding ESG reporting, and embed sustainability into financial processes. This is a unique opportunity to create lasting impact by designing robust processes, shaping cross-functional collaboration, and embedding ESG into core financial systems. You’ll also contribute to monthly close and consolidation, assist with IFRS reporting, and help strengthen internal controls and process quality across Finance.

Your day-to-day may include :

  • Coordinating ESG data collection and validation across multiple teams.
  • Preparing documentation for audit and ensuring audit readiness.
  • Collaborating with the Head of Sustainability and data owners to define KPIs and reporting structures.
  • Monitoring regulatory changes and adapting reporting processes.
  • Supporting development of dashboards and ESG reporting systems.
  • Contributing to Vend’s consolidated financial reporting and controlling.
  • You’ll report directly to the Head of Group Accounting and join a skilled team of eight colleagues, including financial controllers, internal control, accounting specialists and treasurer. The team collaborates closely to ensure high-quality reporting and compliance across Vend. In this role, you’ll also work hand in hand with our Head of Sustainability, combining financial and strategic sustainability expertise to build a robust ESG reporting framework.
