Software Engineer, Field Engineering (Stavanger)

Field Engineering are seeking a Software Engineer to join the team. Are you passionate about programming control systems, and do wish to work with a broad specter of different equipment used in the drilling industry, this position might be the right one for you?

Field Engineering is part of NOV Rig Technologies, Aftermarket, and our primary task is to deliver upgrades to drill ships and drilling rigs.

NOV deliver control systems for all machinery used for drilling, where our Cyberbase Chairs are the main hub where almost all operational tasks are performed. New functionality, upgrades and improvements must be programmed, and in order to perform these tasks we need a new team member. Large and complex control systems give a large span in jobs and complexity, providing a good variety of job tasks in addition to professional development.

The position requires to work closely with our technical disciplines and have contact with both customer and suppliers. Workplace will mainly be in our office in Stavanger. Some travel can occur, both on- and offshore in Norway and abroad.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Update NOV control systems with new functionality
• Perform inhouse test and quality assure our deliveries
• Create and update technical documentation
• Technical Support to our sales engineers, field service technicians and our customers
