About the Role
Aqualung Carbon Capture is entering a rapidly scale-up phase as we advance our mission to accelerate industrial decarbonization. To support this growth, we are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Financial Controller to take ownership of core accounting controlling and financial operations. You will be joining a highly growing company of approximately 20 high skilled professionals across departments. The role reports directly to CFO.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and review bookkeeping and accounting work currently performed by external accounting firm, with a potential transition to in-house operations in the future
- Perform general ledger entries and intercompany transaction bookings during period-end closings
- Review and approve invoices; supervise accounts payable and receivable processes
- Support procurement activities and vendor payment tracking
- Supervise month-end closing procedures and perform monthly financial controlling
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with applicable standards and regulations
- Coordinate with external auditors and accounting service providers for audits and tax filings
- Establish and maintain internal control procedures and documentation to ensure audit readiness
- Assist the CFO with budgeting, cost control, cash flow forecasting, and liquidity planning
- Generate ad hoc financial reports, business case analyses, and insights for management decision-making
- Contribute to ERP system enhancements and integration, including training business teams on system use
Desired Skills & Experience
Degree in accounting, finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent preferred)3+ years of experience in financial control or accounting roles, additional auditing experience is a plusGood knowledge of Norwegian GAAP and tax regulations, IFRS knowledge is a plus but not necessaryFluent in both English and NorwegianAdvanced Microsoft office skills, additional data analysis skills are a plusExperience with ERP systems - NetSuite preferredExperience in project accounting and controlling is a plusExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated and accountable, with a proactive mindset and ownership of deliverablesAnalytical thinker with a sharp eye for detail and a structured approach to problem-solvingThrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments and adapts well to shifting prioritiesFull work rights in NorwayWhat We Offer
