Overview
At wheel.me, we’re redefining how autonomous systems integrate with the real world. We develop robotics infrastructure from the ground up - combining custom hardware, embedded systems, real-time robotics software, and cloud-based management solutions. Our core innovation, Genius, is the world’s first autonomous wheel. It transforms ordinary carts and equipment into intelligent, mobile robots that can move safely and reliably in real-world settings. We’re based in Oslo, with a global mindset and a growing network of customers and partners. We design and test our robots in-house, and we ship software that controls physical systems in live environments - not just in simulation.
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to ensure the quality and optimal design of our autonomous robot systems. You will play a critical role in designing and developing smart product solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement in our testing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive innovation by developing creative and smart product solutions that integrate advanced technologies such as robotics, sensors, and automation.
- Utilize CAD design tools to create, simulate, and optimize product designs, ensuring adherence to DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
- Manage product structure and maintain accurate BOMs, ensuring traceability and consistency across development stages.
- Oversee release processes, guaranteeing smooth transitions from development to production and alignment with quality and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with department heads and cross-functional stakeholders to align technical decisions with strategic business objectives.
- Lead technical initiatives across disciplines to ensure performance, reliability, and safety while pushing the boundaries of innovative product design.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and partners to validate technical requirements, resolve challenges, and build strong relationships.
- Continuously optimize designs and manufacturing processes by leveraging expertise in production methods, simulations, and emerging technologies.
