Decision Trees is a software and consulting company that develops new mathematical, especially stochastic optimization models for the energy industry and introduces them into practice. The models are embedded in our software system DT.Energy, which is used by a large number of customers in Germany, Austria, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Estonia and the United Arab Emirates. This involves improving the use and increasing the efficiency of thermal power plants, district heating systems, hydroelectric power plants, gas storage facilities or gas procurement portfolios through sophisticated mathematical optimization. A particular focus is currently on international projects to optimize renewable generation in combination with electric batteries. This is an exciting and very challenging task, especially in the current energy transition.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for several software developers (m / f / d) and IT consultants as specialists (m / f / d) in the field of cloud-based SaaS solutions. Interesting and varied challenges await you in a dynamic and uncomplicated working environment.

Your tasks

Analysis of the technical requirements of our international customers
Conception, implementation and further development of our applications for portfolio optimization (front-end, business logic, database)
Conception, realization and further development of interfaces for the integration of our applications into the IT landscape of our customers
Customer support and independent maintenance of existing IT systems

Your skills

Completed university degree in (business) computer science, (business) mathematics, physics or a similar course of study

Experience in application development

In-depth knowledge of C#, WPF, .NET and C++

Knowledge of cloud applications in MS Azure

Knowledge of the implementation of web-based data interfaces (e.g. REST)

Ideally knowledge of Matlab

Knowledge of architecture design of cloud-based IT solutions in MS Azure

Knowledge of SQL and relational databases, in particular Microsoft SQL Server and / or Oracle

Ideally knowledge of operations research and solver technologies (Gurobi / Cplex)

Confident handling of Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio and / or SQL Developer

Knowledge of application and database design

Knowledge of object-oriented design and programming as well as common programming paradigms (e.g. MVC)

Knowledge of the energy industry is an advantage

Excellent communication skills

Willingness to support marketing and sales

Good written and spoken English skills

Independent, structured and results-oriented way of working

Strong systematic approach, conceptual and analytical thinking
