1 permament and 2 temporary PYP Contact and Classroom Teachers

Manglerud skole, International classes is a city wide school programme open for applicants from the municipality of Oslo for years 1-10 housed within Manglerud school. The programme is taught in English using the IB curriculum; PYP for the Primary years (1-6) and MYP for the Middle years (7-10). Currently the programme has 235 students and a staff of 30. The IB PYP Program is centered around six transdisciplinary themes in which teachers combine different subjects such as math, science, literacy and social sciences to approach larger concepts. Using the IB Primary Years Program (PYP) curriculum we seek to challenge our pupils academically and to actively take part in the learning process through inquiry and exploration and aim to stimulate the child's natural gift for being curious, inquisitive and creative. As there is only one year 1 class at our school the teacher needs to work independently on units and assessments while collaborating with all PYP teachers on curriculum building.

The permanent position requires the applicant to be a qualified PYP teacher with experience in organizing the PYP exhibition.

The two temporary position for the 2024 / 2025 academic year requires applicants to be qualified PYP teachers, responsible for teaching English, Mathematics, Social Sciences and Sciences with a transdisciplinary approach and oversee the well-being of the students in the class.

Qualified / certified primary school teacher degree, recognized by NOKUT / UDIR

Work permit in Norway / EU

Qualifications and experience in the PYP programme

Fluent in written and spoken English

Communicative and reflective around practices and procedures for the sake of contributing to an open learning culture and professional development that engages both colleagues, students and parents
