We've partnered with Funcom to find a Chief Technology Officer to shape the studio's technical vision.

As Chief Technology Officer you will lead a team of talented Engineers, driving key technical decisions, and fostering effective cross-disciplinary communication. You'll also oversee technical implementation and ensure the prioritisation and execution of team goals.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will collaborate closely with your team to position Funcom at the forefront of virtual world development and operation.

The Funcom team comprises over 400 professionals across five studios in Norway, the US, Portugal, Sweden, and Romania. From the critically acclaimed The Longest Journey to the groundbreaking sci-fi MMO Anarchy Online, the studio's 30-year history has been focused on developing immersive online gaming experiences, this vein continues with the upcoming open-world survival MMO title Dune : Awakening.

Your responsibilities...

• Lead the charge in defining Funcom's technological future, driving innovation and productivity to create exciting gaming experiences
• Serve as the primary technical advisor, guiding and inspiring development teams
• Lead and mentor teams to work together harmoniously and efficiently
• Seek out new technologies and practices to advance Funcom's games
• Establish ambitious yet achievable development milestones, ensuring goals are met on time, on budget, and to high standards for code quality
• Partner with Production and Product teams to build a long-term roadmap, set schedules, and allocate resources
• Collaborate with Finance to develop efficient, scalable infrastructure with low overhead and operating costs
• Develop scalable technical solutions to support the codebase and accommodate future growth
• Align Funcom's technology vision with business goals and communicate this to developers
• Lead and empower an Engineering department with diverse skills and experience levels, providing technical mentorship and organisational oversight
• Oversee identifying, evaluating, selecting potential technical partners, libraries, and other technologies and tools
• Implement and uphold engineering best practices, coding standards, and development methodologies
• Stay on the forefront of tech and gaming trends
