As Volue continues to expand, the SMB segment is becoming a key strategic priority, with a focus on serving smaller asset owners, traders, and aggregators in the energy markets. We are seeking a hands-on sales leader to design, build, and scale the go-to-market motion for this high-potential customer group. The role will span the full spectrum of responsibilities — from defining ideal customer profiles and building pipeline to leading and developing a high-velocity sales team. Vice President of SMB Sales will work closely with colleagues across the go-to-market organization, while Product and Customer Success will serve as critical partners in ensuring seamless customer acquisition, onboarding, and expansion. Performance expectations will be aligned with annual action plans and growth targets.

What you will be doing to make a difference :

  • Define and refine the SMB sales strategy by leveraging the existing customer base while driving significant new customer acquisition.
  • Build repeatable and scalable sales motions tailored to the needs of SMB buyers.
  • Drive predictable new business growth through outbound, inbound, and partnership channels.
  • Own revenue targets for the SMB segment and ensure strong pipeline coverage.
  • Recruit, coach, and scale a team of SMB account executives and / or sales development representatives.
  • Foster a culture of high-velocity selling, accountability, and customer-centricity.
  • Partner with Marketing to design and execute targeted campaigns and demand generation programs.
  • Collaborate with Product to shape offerings and bundles that resonate with SMB customers.
  • Work closely with Customer Success to enable seamless onboarding and drive customer expansion.
  • Act as the voice of the SMB customer by bringing back market intelligence, competitive insights, and feedback to inform strategy.

What you need to succeed :

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Economics, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience building and leading high-performing sales teams.
  • Proven success in scaling SMB or mid-market sales motions, ideally in SaaS, energy tech, or other B2B industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth, develop go-to-market strategies, and scale commercial operations.
  • Experience collaborating with product, marketing, and operations teams to align sales strategies with business objectives.
  • Familiarity with partnership-driven go-to-market models is a plus.
  • Willingness to engage directly with customers in early stages while refining and optimizing the sales playbook before scaling.
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills with the ability to translate customer insights into actionable strategies while ensuring sound unit economics.
  • Comfortable operating in high-velocity, lower-ACV environments with a disciplined approach to efficiency and growth.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of recruiting, mentoring, and developing top-performing sales talent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal and customer engagement abilities.
  • Entrepreneurial, data-driven, and relentlessly customer-focused mindset.
