The role will support Service Line development by growing the Subsea Cables business, ensuring cross functional alignment and providing technical-commercial input across the sales funnel from business development, tendering, project execution and development projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and grow the subsea cables business for the service line, identifying new opportunities and optimising existing ones
- Work closely with the Service Line Manager and functional managers (BD, Tendering, Project Execution) to support service line objectives
- Provide technical-commercial input to ensure proposals, tenders, and projects are robust, competitive, and aligned with client needs
- Represent the company externally at client meetings, conferences, and industry forums to maintain visibility and market intelligence
- Track market trends, competitor activity, and client requirements to inform service line strategy
- Ensure cross-functional collaboration to maximise value capture and optimise delivery solutions
- Review contracts for technical and commercial risks, ensuring compliance with company standards.
Tasks can include, but are not limited to :
Identify, qualify and develop subsea cable opportunities across the sales funnel, from business development through tendering and project executionSupport the preparation, submission, and negotiation of tenders and proposalsCoordinate with project execution, engineering, operations, legal, and commercial teams to deliver technically and commercially robust solutionsMaintain accurate CRM, sales funnel, and reporting systems for service line trackingSupport contract reviews, risk assessments, and project handoversProvide input to service line planning, forecasting, and pipeline developmentEnsure compliance with HSE policies, company standards, and governance processesSupport pricing strategies by balancing technical feasibility, operational efficiency, and commercial competitiveness.Undertake other duties as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the roleRequirements
Education
Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (preferred)
Background in subsea construction, cable installation or related offshore engineering discipline
Experience
Demonstrated experience in business acquisition, tendering, or project pursuit
Strong technical understanding of subsea cable installation methodologies and associated risks
Must have a solid existing client base or well-established contacts within major energy companies (offshore wind developers, EPC contractors, interconnector operators, etc.).
Proven ability to engage with clients at both technical and commercial levels
Fluent in English (written and verbal)
Experience can compensate for lack of formal competence
