Research assistant (50 %) at the Center for Digital Narrative

The Center for Digital Narrative invites applications for a 50 % temporary position as Research Assistant at the Center for Digital Narrative at the University of Bergen. We are looking for a motivated and well-organized person. The role primarily involves coordinating research-related events and supporting the planning and execution of an international summer school. The position also includes tasks related to research communication and support for academic communities. The position is for a fixed-term period of 1 year, with the possibility of extension. The starting date is set to the 1st of October 2025.

Work tasks :

The work will be varied and include research assistance, event support, communication work, and other related tasks.

  • Plan and carry out research events and the summer school, including logistics, participant follow-up, and practical coordination.
  • Contribute to research communication through newsletters, websites, social media, and other outreach channels.
  • Recording, editing, and distribution of podcasts produced at the center.
  • Support the development of research communities, including game-based community. building and social science communication.
  • Provide administrative and academic support to research groups, such as literature searches, data collection, reference management, and documentation.
  • Other project-related tasks may be undertaken as agreed upon.

The workplace is at the Centre for Digital Narrative, University of Bergen.

Qualifications and personal qualities :

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience with communication, web editing, and social media.
  • Experience coordinating large events involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with recording and editing radio or podcasts.
  • Fluent in English, oral and written.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Ability to work systematically, independently, and in a goal-oriented manner.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Personal suitability will be emphasized.

    Applicants who have previously been employed as PhD Research Fellow or obtained qualifications equivalent to a PhD degree are not eligible for employment.

    Vi tilbyr :

  • A thriving and professionally stimulating work environment.
  • A gross annual salary of NOK 525,000 in a full-time position for candidates with a master’s degree (position code 1020), and gross annual salary of NOK 465,000 in a full-time position for candidates with a bachelor’s degree (position code 1019). A higher salary may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants.
  • Enrolment in the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.
