Job description

Senior Communication Partner to Executive Leadership in Norway

At COWI, we are seeking an experienced and proactive communication professional to act as the trusted communication advisor and go-to person to our executive leadership in Norway. Are you a strategic thinker with the ability to craft compelling narratives and messages across internal and external channels on behalf of others? Do you thrive as a sparring partner, translating executive insights into impactful speeches, presentations, and written communication? Are you able to maintain focus on what matters most while delivering clear, engaging and reliable content?

If you are motivated by enabling others to succeed through engaging leadership communication, we invite you to join COWI in this newly established role and take your career to the next level.

Create the solutions that will enable a better tomorrow

As Senior Communication Partner to our Group Chief Business Development Officer and Executive Vice President of COWI in Norway, Marius Weydahl Berg, you will act as his key operational right hand in producing high-quality content—including articles, message documents, presentations, social media posts, and more.

You will be responsible for transforming his leadership team’s ideas and strategic perspectives into clear and actionable communication. This role spans the full spectrum of communication disciplines and will be carried out in close collaboration with colleagues in our Communication and Branding team.

This position is ideal for an experienced communicator who can establish themselves as a reliable and strategic partner to senior leaders — someone with the ability to listen, interpret, and translate executive input into inspirational content that moves people’s perceptions and actions.

Communication plays a vital part in COWI's strategy, and you will join our global team of communication specialists, reporting to the Senior Vice President of Communication and Branding. Our team spans press relations, public affairs, design, branding, and employer branding, working closely with leaders and teams across the organisation to support our business objectives.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Acting as the primary communication partner to the Group Chief Business Development Officer and Executive Vice President of COWI in Norway and his leadership team, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
  • Developing and executing communication plans that support strategic priorities for Group Business Development and executive communication in Norway, in collaboration with colleagues in Communication and Branding and other key stakeholders
  • Serving as the day-to-day sparring partner and trusted advisor to the Group Chief Business Development Officer and Executive Vice President of COWI in Norway
  • Taking operational responsibility for crafting strategic narratives across multiple channels
  • Producing engaging executive communications for internal platforms, including the intranet, town halls, seminars, and other leadership touchpoints
  • Supporting leadership in Group Business Development and Norway with effective change communication
  • Enhancing the visibility of the Group Chief Business Development Officer and Executive Vice President of COWI in Norway on LinkedIn, including planning and delivering consistent, relevant posts
  • Developing messaging and presentation materials for external conferences, stakeholder meetings, media engagements, and more, in collaboration with the press team
  • Supporting leaders across Group Business Development and Business Line Norway with communication training, as needed

Your skills. Our team. Together, we design the future

To effectively perform in this role, you must bring extensive experience in executive communication and a strong grasp of strategic business contexts. You understand how to turn complex ideas and leadership messaging into content that is both engaging and aligned with broader organisational goals—across internal and external platforms.

You are skilled at prioritising and simplifying, helping leaders communicate with clarity and purpose. When working with urgency or tight deadlines, you remain calm, focused, and solutions-oriented—delivering high-quality results efficiently.

A collaborative mindset is essential, and you bring a strong service orientation, always willing to support where needed. Your communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills are top tier, enabling you to build trusted relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders. You are structured, self-driven, and diligent, with the ability to balance short-term priorities while maintaining a long-term perspective.

On top of that, you will have :

  • A master’s degree in communication, business strategy, or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior communication role within large corporations, listed companies, PR agencies, or established media outlets
  • A proven track record of supporting executive leaders with hands-on internal and change communication
  • A detail-oriented approach and the ability to distil complex information into compelling narratives—comfortable working with data and numbers
  • Fluency in English and Norwegian (written and spoken), with English as your primary working language
