We are looking for a Sales Manager Newbuild with a main responsibility in helping our customers fitting their vessels with Wärtsilä marine solutions. The preferred locations for this position are  Rubbestadneset , Stord , Haugesund , or Oslo (Norway) , but Bergen is also negotiable. We offer a possibility to hybrid or remote work.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Sales Manager Newbuild your work will include :

  • Maintain and further develop new and existing customer relationships
  • Identify and / or develop sales projects, support decarbonization with a consultative and collaborative approach
  • Drive sales performance by executing end-to-end sales process, engaging with customers and internal resources, utilising in-depth knowledge of products and market to deliver tailored solution that brings value to both the customer and Wärtsilä

The Wärtsilä Norway sales team comprise 16 skilled sales managers, responsible for a yearly sales of 300M€ within newbuilds, conversions and services. You will be working as a part of the newbuilds group, a 5-person team which specialise in the interactions between vessel owner, designer, consultant and yards while providing technical and commercial management in the offering process.

Requirements for the position :

  • Technical knowledge about marine power and propulsion systems
  • Experience and / or insight into ship building process
  • You have a network of relevant partners and stakeholders
  • You are passionate about the marine decarbonisation journey
  • To be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have :

  • Experience from marine industry
  • Knowledge about maritime regulations within emissions and safety
  • Experience from B2B sales, Business Development, Project Sales or Sales Account Management
  • Excellent communication skills, both in English and Norwegian
