  • Investigate processes on scales from mesoscale eddies to small-scale turbulence and mixing, including slope-basin exchanges, front exchanges, winter convection, tides and internal waves.
  • Work with observations from ship surveys, underwater gliders, moored instruments, and microstructure measurement systems (underwater glider with microstructure sensors; ship-based vertical microstructure profilers).

Experience with planning and organizing field campaigns and with underwater gliders is an asset. The candidate will participate in multiple 2–3 week cruises (typically once a year).
