We are looking for a Technical Solutions Engineer to join our Operation & Sales team.
Reporting line
The Technical Solutions Engineer (TSE) will report directly to the Technical Solutions Manager for Archer Oiltools in the Northern Europe (NOE) region.
Role
The Technical Solutions Engineer will combine technical skills with commercial understanding to increase value for Archer Oiltools and our customer through new solutions, technology, and new ways of thinking. The role will work closely with the Quality improvement team, the Operation Sales team and operational functions internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineer sustainable, reliable and effective solutions to our customers.
- Support Operations & Sales team with solutions for specific well scenarios to maximize our service offering & operational efficiency.
- Continuous work with customer to find smarter solutions, being able to see new sales opportunities and how to combine our products in new, better, and cost saving solutions for the customers.
- Participate in tool reliability programs and implement upgrades based on tool and combo performance data.
- In-depth understanding of Oil tools’ product portfolio and technical solutions.
- Develop drawings / sketch, procedures, and best practices for new solutions
- Assist in the design of custom-made products.
- Make technical presentations and demonstrate how a product will meet client needs.
- Conduct Torque and Drag simulations, when relevant, according to customer needs
- Take part in Archer Oiltools’ duty arrangements, if needed
- Assist in monitoring tool reliability programs and provide input for upgrades based on performance data from tools and combinations.
- Collaborate with Engineering & Technical Services (ETS) to implement engineering changes in compliance with internal documentation and quality standards.
- Execute Rapid Response Engineering efforts by contributing to technical solutions that address portfolio gaps and urgent customer needs.
- Participate in the standardization of Bottom Hole Assemblies (BHAs), including preparation of procedures, configurations, drawings, and checklists.
- Execute tool upgrades and modifications, ensuring documentation aligns with ETS and company standards.
- Maintain engineering procedures and documentation, ensuring proper storage, naming conventions, and version control within the file management system.
- Assist the Quality Improvement team in failure investigations and performance reviews by providing technical analysis and documentation.
- Analyze tool performance and reliability data, contributing to reports and insights that support organizational transparency.
- Maintain documentation for third-party equipment, including procedures and technical drawings, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure all engineering outputs meet standards for documentation, traceability, and audit readiness.
Qualifications
Education :
Engineering degree (Bachelor / Master) within the area of Petroleum or relevant is a mandatory requirement.Experience :
At least 5 years of technical sales experienceExperience in product developmentExperience in Torque and Drag simulations.Hold broad knowledge and experience (both technical and operational) of our product portfolio.Broad experience within well construction, well integrity, intervention, remediation and barrier plug technology.Strong technical and operational background from relevant Oil & Gas industryOffshore experienceStrong knowledge of the industry and market trendsPersonal skills
