Overview
Johnson Controls, through the use of authorised and approved suppliers carry out installation and service works for our customers on complex high value projects within the Buildings Solutions, Fire, Security & HVAC sectors.
What you will do
You will be required to work closely with the Senior Buyer, Category Managers and key stakeholders to understand spend requirements, negotiate prices and contracts with suppliers to achieve both cost book and savings targets. You will need to closely manage commercial and contractual interactions with external companies. You will be responsible for implementing and supporting the creation of key supplier partnership business plans based on internal requirements, supplier market analysis and cost models in order to achieve long-term working relationships that enable both supplier and JCI market growth.
How you will do it
- Support a variety of business projects, ensuring Procurement & sourcing activities meet their timescales & requirements.
- Collaborate with the UK & Nordics Field business and the Category Management teams.
- Conduct end to end tender exercises & negotiations to appoint contracts and framework agreements with preferred suppliers.
- Generate & deliver savings opportunities against an annual target & improving supplier payment terms.
- Provide support and cover for the Senior Buyer where needed.
- Work closely with internal partners to understand business requirements and translate into a sourcing strategy.
- Drive contract and category negotiations across the portfolio.
- Supplier K.P.I and S.L.A management, taking ownership of supplier quarterly business review meetings.
- Relationship management and post-contract value creation.
- Support supplier management processes including supplier on boarding, performance evaluations and audits.
- Create and deliver RFXs activities where appropriate using eSourcing platforms to deliver best solution proposals to the business for sourcing decisions.

3+ years’ experience in a similar Procurement role with track record of delivering savings.Confident communicator at all levels, and strong presenting skillsExperience in MS Office and Procurement processes including eProcurement suitesAbility to negotiate under pressureHighly organised with effective time management and attention to detail.Drive to ‘make things happen’ and create opportunitiesAbility to gather, relate and summarise information into logical conclusionsAbility to work within defined processesPreferred
