Qualifications : Degree in engineering, more than five years of relevant experience in the chemical, petrochemical, or mining industry, strong understanding of documentation and cross-disciplinary project execution in process plant design, excellent knowledge of Swedish and English

Preferred qualifications : Experience with COMOS, AVEVA or similar systems, knowledge of filtration of ash, phosphorus, and heavy metals, familiarity with vendors of process equipment (e.g., pumps, filters, reactors), experience in site supervision and installation work, knowledge of German

Other : The role includes managing projects from feasibility to commissioning across Sweden and Northern Europe. Travel is required. EasyMining develops patented chemical processes for recovering nutrients and materials from waste to support the transition to a circular economy.

We are in the process of commercializing our technologies by building chemical process plants and are therefore in need of a project manager with preferably a background from the process-, mining- or petrochemical industry.

Job Brief

As Project Manager at EasyMining, you will work with engineering projects from early feasibility studies through detailed design, procurement, and all the way to commissioning and plant start-up. You will work closely with internal engineering teams and external partners to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead one or more of our engineering projects, coordinating the work of cross-disciplinary teams
• Oversee equipment selection, process design evaluations, plant layout, and technical specifications
• Support procurement of materials, equipment, and contracting partners
• Drive the continuous development of our internal project models, standards, and tools
• Identify and manage project risks
• Lead technical meetings with customers, partners, and site representatives
• Deliver technical data required for environmental permit applications
• Manage project budgets and prepare CAPEX estimates

This position is based at our Gothenburg office and will involve travel to project sites across Sweden and Northern Europe, depending on project needs.

A post-secondary engineering education

5 years of relevant experience, preferably from the chemical, petrochemical, or mining industry.

Office package

Good knowledge and understanding of the needed documents and engineering disciplines to design and construct a process plant.

Good knowledge and experience of participating in industry design projects with a cross-discipline team.

Background

Recovery and recycling of nutrients such as phosphorus, nitrogen, and potassium from society back to agriculture is important for a sustainable world. Phosphorus and potassium are scarce resources in which EU is heavily dependent on virgin import from Morocco and Russia. Both the manufacturing of mineral nitrogen fertilizers, as well as the required biological methods for treating nitrogen containing wastewaters consume large amounts of energy and chemicals. In addition, the established virgin-based processes lead to emissions of greenhouse gases and ammonia, which affects the climate, eutrophication, and causes acidification in the nature.

EasyMining has several patented processes that enables recovery of clean commercial products by using waste as raw materials. Examples of our processes are phosphorus recovery from incinerated sewage sludge ashes (Ash2Phos), nitrogen recovery and energy reduction from nitrogen containing wastewaters (Project N), as well as extraction of salts from fly ash created through incineration of municipal waste (Ash2Salt).
