Senior Data Engineer

DN Media Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping our data and insights capabilities. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will combine technical expertise to drive the development and evolution of our Data & Insights Platform, provide architectural guidance, and contribute to the operationalization of our data strategy. You will report to the Head of Data & Insights.

Overview

Role Focus : Operationalize the Data Strategy via developing our data foundation, data products and Data & Insights Platform. Drive the adoption of best practices in data engineering and promote continuous improvement within the team. Ensure the team stays current with emerging data technologies and trends.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership, including coding and development, while ensuring adherence to architectural principles and best practices.
• Contribute to data architecture, data modeling, pipeline development, and technology optimization to meet organizational needs.
• Lead the design and implementation of pilot projects (POCs) to validate implementation hypotheses and technology choices.
• Drive the adoption of modern data technologies (e.g. dbt), practices (DataOps) and the development of tools and capabilities, empowering other teams to use data.
• Contribute to the strategy and roadmap for our evolving Data & Insights Platform, aligned with business needs.
• Foster a collaborative team environment, ensuring focus on key deliverables and alignment with best practices.
• Act as a mentor and technical expert, contributing to the team's growth and skill development, especially in Data Platforms.
• Contribute to team building and recruitment efforts.
