Job description

Join our global team for a career filled with opportunities to solve challenges both small and large, local and global, simple and complex.

Wilhelmsen Ships Services (WSS) is looking for an ESG Analyst

Do you have a passion for sustainability?

Do you enjoy working with data to create insights and understanding?

Do you want hands on experience with implementing ESG in an operational context and see the developments up close?

Join our high caliber and truly global team as ESG Analyst in the WSS ESG Team!

Founded in Norway in 1861, Wilhelmsen is now a global maritime group supporting over half of the merchant fleet with essential marine products and services, along with supplying crew and technical management to the largest and most complex vessels ever to sail. Committed to shaping the maritime industry, we also seek to explore and develop new opportunities within the renewables, offshore and energy industries. Supporting a diverse and inclusive workplace, with thousands of colleagues in more than 70 countries, we take competence, sustainability, innovation, and unparalleled customer experiences one step further.

One of the Business Units in the group – Wilhelmsen Ships Services (WSS) – is looking for an ESG Analyst to help transform ESG reporting from a compliance task into a value-driving function. In this role, you’ll play a key part in collecting, analyzing, and communicating ESG data that supports transparency and informed decision-making across the business. The people at WSS don’t just hold jobs here. They turn insights into action, and with the largest maritime network in the world, we do work that makes an impact - if it floats, our products are probably on it.

Our ambition is to continuously improve and grow - and position the business for a more sustainable maritime industry. We expect significant new investments over the next years to accelerate these efforts. The position will be part of the ESG team in WSS, which belongs to the larger Finance and ESG team, and will report to the ESG Director. A lot of good work has been done on ESG over the past couple of years and we are looking to keep this up and improve further. The role will therefore work hands-on with ESG reporting, analysis and controlling - gathering, validating, and communicating data that helps identify areas for improvement and supports both internal progress and external disclosures.

We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills and numerical aptitude who is eager to help drive ESG within the organization. As ESG Analyst in WSS, you will help facilitate ESG developments in the company through data analysis and assessments of aspects within the E, S and G, and you will be able to influence our business decisions with your findings and recommendations. The role requires a proactive and performance-based mindset that wants to be part of addressing ESG risks and creating long-term value.

Drive GHG reporting in WSS, including establishing baselines and reporting of scope 3 categories, improving existing reporting, and implementing ESG reporting controls

Contribute to broader ESG reporting such as quarterly updates, climate risk, and double materiality assessments

Identify and develop ESG data where it is not yet in place, especially for material topics

Provide insights and recommendations to embed ESG into WSS’s core operations

Contribute to other ESG related ad-hoc projects

Qualifications

University degree in economics, business administration, finance / accounting or similar

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience from consulting, audit, or industry
