Job description

Managing Partner – IT Consulting - Commercial Sectors

Location: Norway | Hybrid Work Model

Are you a visionary leader, someone with an ability to shape and influence C-level executives? We have an opportunity to leverage those skills to advise leading commercial organisations in the Nordics, and we invite you to meet us.

Why Gartner Consulting?

We help multinational organizations stay ahead of the curve—leveraging technology to deliver real impact. Backed by Gartner’s world-class Business & Technology Insights, our consultants provide independent, data-driven advice that helps commercial organisations meet their strategic aims.

The Opportunity

We’re expanding our Strategy & Technology Consulting team in Oslo and looking for someone with a great knowledge of commercial industries in the region (Oil & Gas, Transport, Manufacturing, Banking, Retail etc)

If you’ve worked in a consultative role, creating fascinating insight, or have led major IT transformations, we would like to hear from you; we offer a dynamic, open and inclusive consulting environment.

If you feel that you fit some of the criteria (even if not all), we encourage you to get in touch - we are passionate about bringing talent from a wide range of diverse backgrounds.

What You’ll Do

  • Advise senior leaders in commercial organizations on technology strategy and innovation.

  • Deliver insights on operating models, organizational design, digital transformation, use cases, technology acquisitions, sourcing, delivery oversight and transformation engagement governance.

  • Support decision-making with data-driven analysis, helping clients optimize IT investments and drive mission-critical success.

  • Lead engagements across a broad area of technology areas; such as cloud transformation, applications modernization, sourcing strategy, and program assurance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive experience in technology-led transformation within the commercial sectors prevalent to Norway (example industries)

  • A consultative approach to sales and business development, ideally with experience of winning IT advisory/consulting engagements

  • A strong understanding of strategic planning, IT governance, and digital innovation to help commercial organisations meet their strategic aims

  • Familiarity with frameworks for CIO advisory, value realization, and program assurance.

  • A relevant academic background (MBA is a plus).

Why Join Us?

This is a unique opportunity to join a world-class consulting team with a proven track record, you’ll work alongside experts who are committed to delivering meaningful change.

Our Team Culture

We believe that great work starts with great people. You’ll be part of a team that is anchored in shared values, deep technology expertise, and a strong sense of purpose. We foster a culture of trust, collaboration, and continuous learning—where every voice is valued and every contribution matters.

We also believe in flexibility. Our consultants enjoy the freedom to work from wherever they perform best—whether that’s from home, the office, or on-site with clients. What unites us is not where we work, but how we work: with integrity, curiosity, and a commitment to making a difference.
