Vice President / Business Manager – Positioning and Communication
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic business manager for the Positioning and Communication business unit in Kongsberg Discovery. The business unit has more than 1 BNOK in yearly revenue and deliver state-of-the-art acoustic positioning systems to customers worldwide within a range of different applications and platforms used within energy, naval and research market.
Key Responsibilities
- Profit & Loss responsibility including strategy, budgeting and bottom line for the business unit
- Drive innovation for new products, applications and services to secure new business
- Manage product line life cycles from strategic planning through utilization and retirement
- Responsible for leading and developing a group of people using a growth mindset and having the courage to lead even in difficult situations
- Analyze market trends and monitor our competitive position
- Drive strategic initiatives for new products and services in existing and emerging markets
- Collaborate with sales on major new opportunities : Prepare business cases, evaluate risk and sign off bid / no-bid
- Engage in dialogue with strategic customers, partners and key stakeholders
- Follow-up on product profitability, R&D spending and key delivery projects
- Ensure close collaboration with Supply Chain, Customer Support and Operations ensure product lifecycle and maintenance, handover and competence development
Qualifications
5-10+ years of experience within product development and management, preferably within defense and / or the maritime sectorProven track record of working with system integrators and strategic partnersGood understanding of maritime applications and the use of underwater vehicles within applications like subsea construction,ROV survey and dynamic positioningHigher technical education, MSc or BSc a relevant technical discipline, or relevant industry background with understanding of maritime operationsCultural awareness and understandingAbility to travel as needed to meet with integrators / partners and attend industry eventsYou are able to

Work location
