We are seeking a skilled Senior Concept Engineer to join our Concepts & Advisory team in the Emerging Solutions division at Kongsberg Maritime . In this role, you will develop vessel concepts with documented client benefits, helping shape the future of sustainable and efficient maritime operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritise and guide concept opportunities leveraging your domain expertise to enhance KM solutions.
  • Dive into the technical foundations of novel solutions, verifying their viability and documenting their benefits.
  • Define necessary innovations, develop business cases, and strategies in collaboration with our product divisions to drive advancements.
  • Develop methodologies and tools for Concepts & Advisory studies and simulations.
  • Support our sales in projects by assessing the feasibility, having a holistic approach, providing crucial insights and inputs for benchmark studies.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Naval architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Cybernetics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Industrial design or related field.
  • Strong understanding of ships and vessel systems and their operation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Innovative mind-set with ability to challenge the status quo.

    • Work Location

    Preferrably Lysaker, Kongsberg, Ålesund or Hjørungavåg, but any KM location can be considered for the right candidate.

    Emerging Solutions is a new division in Kongsberg Maritime responsible for developing and delivering prioritized and high impact new solutions that are cross divisional to the market. This includes identifying areas with large market potential where Kongsberg Maritime can develop unique offerings benefiting our customers and their visions. Emerging Solutions have the responsibility to develop and deliver those offerings based on the wide range of knowledge, products and services across Kongsberg Maritime tying together the joint effort across the company.
