Join to apply for the Forestry Supply Chain Specialist role at Preferred by Nature
Based in Norway, you will assess and verify the sustainability and legality of practices related to forestry, biomass, and supply chains for clients in Norway and Sweden. You will manage part of our client portfolio and help ensure our services meet high-quality, certification standards.
What you can expect
You will gain insights into forestry and sustainability certification and develop expertise in standards such as FSC, PEFC, SBP, and Preferred by Nature’s own certification.
Working with us is dynamic, with a focus on the following areas in the first year :
- Support our clients in Norway and Sweden by managing certification audits, including planning, audit preparation, conducting audits, reporting, and client communication.
- Act as Lead Auditor for FSC, PEFC, SBP and Preferred by Nature certification schemes, ensuring reports are delivered with quality and timeliness.
- Strengthen client relationships by providing excellent customer service, technical guidance on certification standards, processes, and trademark use.
- Ensure audit efficiency through proper planning, Salesforce data management, and adherence to accreditation and certification protocols.
- Contribute to market development by representing Preferred by Nature at events, supporting new client opportunities, and upholding our reputation in Scandinavia.
Your progression
Your first year with us
Within three months
Complete onboarding and familiarize yourself with Preferred by Nature's mission and role, with on-the-job training related to FSC, SBP, and PEFC Standards and auditing requirements.Enhance auditing skills through learning, observation, and assisting with logistics planning under experienced auditors in Sweden and Denmark.Conduct supervised audits, prepare and submit audit reports for review, and manage small tasks within the audit portfolio.Within six months
Transition to a more independent auditor by leading smaller-scale audits under supervision, refining technical skills, and ensuring accurate reporting.Take ownership of a subset of audit tasks, managing them independently while supporting others in logistics, client communication, and data management.Develop expertise in certification standards and customer service to prepare for portfolio management as a task manager.Within one year
Operate independently as a lead auditor, handling a full portfolio and managing the complete certification process from start to finish.Assume the role of a task manager for assigned audits, ensuring quality control and adherence to guidelines.Expand responsibilities to regional support and training of junior auditors, contributing to team expertise and efficiency.Qualifications
Have a college / university degree and 2 years of professional experience in forest products sectors or related environmental management. Alternatively, a high school certificate with 4 years of relevant experience.Good verbal and written English communication skills.Willingness to travel nationwide and internationally as part of the job.High integrity and business ethics, balancing client service with auditing responsibilities.Experience with auditing and familiarity with FM, FSC / PEFC CoC, SBP.Proficiency with digital tools (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations).Network-oriented and service-minded; potential to contribute to sales and marketing efforts.What Sets Us Apart
