Our AI- and radar-powered system, RafX SafeNight , uses concealed radar sensors to track patients 24 / 7, detecting health deterioration, agitation, and location — a true breakthrough in psychiatry, where patient monitoring today relies on nursing observations.
We’re looking for a highly experienced and independent Lead Software Engineer to drive both the architectural vision and hands‑on development of our platform. You should be comfortable taking technical ownership, solving complex problems, and driving development forward with minimal supervision.
You will build and lead a multidisciplinary team spanning full-stack development, signal processing, data analysis, UX / UI, and machine learning. This is a rare opportunity to join in the early startup phase and directly shape our technology roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust server‑based software solutions for hospital environments, ensuring high reliability, data integrity, and security.
- Lead the development of software connecting multiple radar sensors across hospital rooms.
- Build and maintain local server infrastructure and databases handling continuous sensor data streams.
- Oversee development across embedded systems, backend services, and local network interfaces.
- Collaborate closely with the hardware supplier to ensure robust data flow between radar devices, controllers, and server infrastructure.
- Develop algorithms for signal processing, feature extraction, and data analysis.
- Apply and integrate machine learning for real‑time interpretation of physiological and behavioral signals.
- Mentor developers and actively contribute to building the engineering team.
- Work closely with hardware, data science, and clinical partners.
- Ensure compliance with medical device software standards.
Core Background
M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.Software development experience, including system-level or backend development.Experience with medical device software or other safety‑critical systems (e.g., IEC 62304).Proficiency in Python, C++, and Linux.Experience in designing and deploying server‑based solutions, maintaining databases, APIs, and communication protocols across devices, ideally in hospital, industrial, or embedded environments.Technical Expertise
Algorithm development and analysis of physiological sensor data or similar.Machine learning applied to biomedical or real‑time monitoring use cases.Understanding of system architecture for distributed sensing or monitoring systems.Understanding of hardware–software integration and network solutions.Preferred Experience
Real-time monitoring or other safety‑critical systems.Regulatory processes, quality systems, or clinical validation.Technical leadership or system architecture roles.Personal Qualities
