BI Norwegian Business School invites applications for the position of Professor / Associate Professor in Accounting or Auditing at the Department of Accounting and Operations Management.
The Department has 45 employees of whom 40 % are international and covers education and research within the fields of financial accounting, auditing, financial management, management accounting, logistics, supply chain management, and operations analysis at bachelor, master, and executive levels. Starting from autumn 2024, the department also offers a specialization in accounting in BI's doctoral program. The department is currently looking for a Professor / Associate Professor to strengthen its capacity in teaching and research in accounting and / or auditing. Job description
We are looking for candidates with strong archival and / or analytical research capabilities in Accounting or Auditing (candidates should have published articles in journals that are included in the Financial Times list or that are rated as 4
Expectations and obligations
Our faculty is expected to provide teaching and supervision of a high academic and pedagogical quality and is expected to continuously develop their teaching skills, by making use of new technology, new ways of learning and new forms of assessment. We focus on quality and competence development and pedagogical activities should be continuously documented, supporting the process for further academic career development to all positions.
Faculty in scientific positions is expected to present work at top international conferences and publish papers in top accounting journals or related fields. Senior faculty is expected to teach and supervise in the PhD specialization within accounting as well as in the Master of Accounting and Auditing.

According to governmental provisions BI has decided on requirements concerning the educational qualifications of permanently employed academic staff. As a minimum such qualifications shall meet the learning outcome of BI‘s pedagogical basic qualification courses or equivalent at all times. To the position of Lecturer and Associate Professor, and in some rare instances for international professors, this specific competence may be obtained within two years after commencing the position.
